“Hi Peter, My plan was to write to you as soon as I got in this morning—but when I opened my email I had almost 400 emails to go through so there went that plan! Thanks for asking though—we had a great time!!!

I have been on Royal, Norwegian & Carnival in the past and out of all of them I think that Holland had the best food!! They really took their time in preparing it and presenting it—it was great! The ship was nice and the entertainment was very good—the weather held up for us too—although we had to skip the Grand Caymans and go to Nassau instead—but we really didn’t run into any rocky weather.

It really was a great trip….

Thanks again!!”

Domenico Tours Trade Magazine

1987 Sales Guide

Peter Fanizzi, Manager of Going Places Travel is quoted in the travel trade magazine:

Domenico tours Garners High Ratings Among Retail Partners

“Peter Fanizzi, manager of the 10 year-old going Places Travel and Entertainment Center in Staten Island,NY has been involved in the family-owned and -run business since his high schooldays….

“…We also get a substantial amount of inbound business. We work with the English language center at a local college, and, on a monthly basis, 150 to 200 foreign students come to us when they want to go on short trips. Often these students are on limited budgets, and with Domenico Tours, they can take advantage of a 3-day program to Boston, which includes the roundtrip transportation, hotel accommodations and sightseeing-for $169.” He added that with reasonable rates such as this, the travel products offered by the company appeal to many inbound tourists.

In addition to the economoical advantage Domenico tours’ programs provide, he pointed out, “Foreign travelers like being with American groups. They can get on a bus and they don’t have to worry about being on their own.””

Farrell Clinches the Top Spot

Monsignor Farrell is No. 1 in New York City.
The Lions earned that honor yesterday by winning a hard-fought 24-14 victory over neighboring Tottenville before 6,000 fans to complete an unbeaten season.

By winning, Farrell, tied once by Poly prep, edged PSAL champion Jefferson and runner-up New Dorp to finish atop the News Top Ten.

Three first-half touchdowns for the Lions were enough for victory as the teams settled down to a defensive battle after intermission. Throughout the second half, Farrell’s tough defense and the punting of Steve Zangla kept the Pirates deep in their own territory.

Zangla’s 47-yard boot late in the final quarter went dead on the Pirates two.

A few plays later, Tottenville quarterback Tony Carchietta was rushed on a pass attempt and stepped out of the end zone for a safety.

Tottenville kicked and Farrell ran out the clock.

Farrell halfback Pete Fanizzi, who was injured in the third quarter, was the game’s MVP. Gary Cali was Tottenville’s MVP.

Tottenville got on the board first when Carchietta combined with Cali on a 54-yard scoring bomb to cap a 66-yard drive with 4:29 left in the first period.

Farrell drove from its own 39 to the Pirates’ 26 but was topped. That’s when the Lions got a big break.

On Tottenville’s first play from scrimmage, halfback Mike Kotula was hit at the line of scrimmage, the ball popping high into the air and defensive back John Wallace grabbed it and was gone to the races on a 26-yard TD jaunt. George Silvas’ kick made it 7-6 with 30 seconds left in the quarter.

Early in the second session, Farrell marched 44 yards on seven plays and Bob Tetosa (Petosa) took it in on a quarterback sneak. Silvas’ kick made it 14-6. The big play was a 30-yard run to the three by Fanazzi (Fanizzi).

Tottenville was jolted for three straight losses after the kickoff by Pete Tarangelo, Bob Belfino (Belfiore) and John Cameron and was forced to punt.

On Farrell’s first play from the Tottenville 40, Petosa rolled left, hit Fanizzi in the flank and the talented halfback went all the way to score. He added a two-point conversion for a 22-6 edge.

But the pirates didn’t quit and the combination of Carchietta and Cali put them back on the board again on a 60-yard pass play. Kotula’s conversion made it 22-14 at halftime.

Recognized by Staten Island Advance as "Thriving"

Peter, our trip to Italy and Sicily was the most memorable we have ever been on.

The tour guide and driver were most professional and friendly. The group was very nice and absolutely no problems with anyone.

The food, the scenery were magnificent.

Everything went on perfect schedule, to the credit of Globus. The hotels and restaurants were absolutely tops.

One night in Selinente we had a 15-course seafood dinner overlooking the Mediterranean.

During the night one of the members got very sick. First thought was food poisoning, but no one else got sick. When we arrived in Taormina the tour guide, Flavia, rushed him to a hospital where he had to undergo immediate surgery. Seems he had a ruptured appendix and was full of peritonitis. But he had no usual symptoms of appendicitis. A few more hours untreated and he would have died.

She stayed up all night and took care of everything and made arrangements for his wife to stay behind. He was still in intensive care when we left. She actually saved his life. More kudos for Globus.

So, thanks for making this trip one we will never forget.

For our next trip the first stop will be MyGoingPlaces.

It will be our pleasure to recommend you to our family and friends.

Thanks again,

Wayne and Lucy Norman

Hi Pete,

We had a GREAT time in Alaska!!! Everything was so beautiful and it didn’t rain all week! Just an amazing time!

I spoke with 2 friends of mine who are looking to take a cruise for their honeymoon. I told them that I had someone that I recommend (you!). Their names are Kate and Juan. I will surely pass your info onto them.

As for me, our next summer family vacation will be back to Disney World. But I think we would like to go back to Alaska (on a cruise) in about 3 years or so. 🙂

Thanks for all of your help!
Wishing you the best,
~Diane
